Arrest made in recent shooting in Greenville

By Scott Harvey

Arlington – An Arlington man and believed intruder in a March 13 shooting incident in Greenville has been taken into custody.

35-year-old Taurs Dwight Jones was shot Sunday at 2004 Wesley Street Apt. #4.

The resident reported that Jones had allegedly came into his apartment and began to assault another person who was visiting him. The resident, who was also assaulted, retrieved a firearm to protect himself and shot the intruder once.

Jones received treatment at Parkland Hospital and was released within a few hours.

A warrant was obtained for his arrest on Monday and police arrested Jones on Thursday. Jones has been charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault.
