Paris – A motorist suspected of driving while intoxicated leads Paris Police on a brief chase Saturday while transported a small child.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the 2900 block of Bonham St., but when the man was asked to step to of the vehicle for a field sobriety test, he refused and drove away. The man, later identified as 29-year-old David Victor Pena, of Paris, would eventually exit his vehicle and flee on foot at a residence on Highway 82 West.
Pena was eventually captured, but during the chase, officers reported being interfered with by a female who tried to tackle them as they chased the suspect. 17-year-old Devonica Ivy Reyes, of Petty, was arrested for interfering with the public duties of an officer.
Also arrested was another occupant of the vehicle, 30-year-old Michael Wayne Howell, of Paris, for public intoxication.
