Bread of Life Food Pantry distributes free food to those in need. Family and Senior Commodity Boxes available at all distributions. Located at 301 Hwy 224, Commerce, TX. Most boxes consist of canned vegetables, rice, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, juice, and canned meat. We also offer frozen meat, bread and fresh produce when in stock. New clients bring a photo ID and proof of address. For example, current utility bill. Our distribution days are the first Friday after the first Wednesday 10:00am – 2:00pm for seniors 60 plus, and everyone younger from 12:00pm – 2:00pm and on the 3rd Wed of the month from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. We also offer Emergency Boxes to families who can’t wait for a distribution day. Volunteers and donations are always welcome. Thank you. • Event time is noon-4 p.m. (general public is invited to attend from noon-2 p.m.)
• General public welcome to eclipse viewing. Students, faculty & Staff invited to post-eclipse party.
• General public will enter and sit on the west (home) side of stadium while university community enters on east (visitors) side. Those entering on east side will need to show Lion Card for entry and will receive a wristband/some other identifier.
• Food trucks available on east side only (in lot 2.) Students will receive a voucher for one free item at food trucks. Faculty/staff will not receive a voucher and need to pay to use the food trucks.
• Concessions will be available inside the stadium on both sides. Will accept only cards (cashless)
• Free eclipse glasses available to anyone while supplies last.
• No bags/purses of any kind allowed in the stadium during the event.
• No pets allowed except for registered service animals marked with the appropriate vest/harness.
• No outside food or drink allowed in the stadium.
• Parking will be available for the general public across the highway by Smith and Berry halls. Shuttles will run from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. to take people from Smith/Berry to the west entrance of the stadium and vice versa. Accessible parking for people with proper permits will be available on the service road in front of the west entrance. Service road parking will only be available to those with a handicap sticker/pass and will otherwise be closed to normal traffic.
• After eclipse, university community invited to silent headphone disco in Lot 2 outside of the visitor’s side from 2-4 p.m. Only those with wristbands will be allowed in lot 2.
• There is no alternate location in case of lightning/rain. The event will be cancelled in the event of severe weather.
Also, the total eclipse should arrive right after 1:40 p.m. on the day of. There will be some fun demonstrations and announcements throughout the buildup and there is supposed to be a live feed of the eclipse being shown on the big screen at the stadium during the event so you can see it happen leading up to totality.
Join Commerce High School for an afternoon of fun. Enjoy live music, entertainment and concessions in anticipation of the eclipse. All proceeds from the afternoon event will benefit Commerce Athletics. Glasses will be available for purchase.

The jazz ensembles perform music in a variety of typical jazz styles including Swing, Blues, Rock, Latin and World Music genres. Participants also learn about the style elements associated with the legendary artists of jazz, as well as spending time developing the craft of jazz improvisation.
All jazz ensembles are open by audition to performers of all majors. Positions are available on saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, string bass (electric or acoustic), drum set, Latin Percussion and vibes.

Second Saturday Bird Walks in the Heard Wildlife Sanctuary are offered by volunteers from the Prairie & Timbers Audubon Society (PTAS). These bird walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. There are also plenty of opportunities provided for participants to ask questions from experienced birders. Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks.

The 35th Annual Spring Native Plant Sale fundraiser at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary will feature a huge selection of native plants, hard-to-find herbs, and well-adapted plants.For over 30 years, veteran and novice gardeners alike have anticipated this rare opportunity to purchase some of the best plants for North Central Texas gardens and obtain many rare plants. The Heard's plant sale will also feature a selection of native milkweed plants.
