Hawaiian Falls Says 'Aloha' to City

GREENVILLE - Officials now know more about a proposed water park in the city.

Local voters could cast ballots next spring in a bond election to pay for a Hawaiian falls adventure park in Greenville.

A Thursday night town hall meeting was conducted concerning the proposed project. The City of Greenville would be responsible for issuing approximately $11 million in bonds to pay for the construction of the park, with the city receiving a percentage of the park's revenues under a long-term lease.

However, retiring the bonds would likely result in an increase in the city’s property tax rate.
