National business to expand operations locally, bring jobs

BONHAM - A Bonham manufacturing company has announced plans to significantly expand operations, which will provide up to 30 jobs within the next two years.

Kelso Technologies, maker of equipment for railroad tank cars,will begin producing two safety valve items in a new, 6,000 sq. ft. facility. The new products are expected to improve measures against spills and leaks from tankers transporting liquid fertilizer, ethanol, crude oil, asphalt and many other hazardous materials.

Kelso is planning to build the new facility on land adjacent to its current facility along North Center Street in Bonham.  

Representatives with the company formally made the announcement Monday during a ceremony attended by local dignitaries and community members.

Kelso supplies innovative technologies aimed at the safe containment of hazardous materials during transport. The Company designs, engineers, markets, sells, produces and distributes a series of industrial products based on patented technologies. Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Kelso; in addition to their Bonham plant, has operations in Lisle, Illinois.
