GREENVILLE - Greenville Police are searching for a man said to have attempted to kidnap a 14-year-old girl as she departed her school bus Tuesday afternoon.
At around 4 p.m. Tuesday, the girl exited the bus in the 4200 block of Stuart Street and was walking to her Johnson Street residence when a white male approached.
According to a release from the City of Greenville, the victim reported that the suspect yelled to her to come to him but the victim continued on home. The suspect was able to catch up to the victim and grab her by the arms. The suspect was pulling the victim in his direction while telling her to come with him. The victim pulled away, was able to get out of the suspect’s grasp and run away. The victim did not see where the suspect went.
The suspect is described as a white male, possibly 30-years old or older, wearing a hat, glasses, facial hair, a blue jacket and blue jeans. The victim also recalls seeing the suspect approximately one month ago at the bus stop watching as she got off the bus. At that time the suspect was on a bicycle.

The Greenville Police Department is asking that all citizens be aware of the drop-off and pick-up points for our students, report suspicious persons or activity and remind our youth to be aware of their surroundings.
