AUSTIN - A state senator from Northeast Texas is among six state legislators to send a letter to Washington urging Congress to immediately approve construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.
District 2 State Senator Bob Deuell, of Greenville, along with Lt. Governor David Dewhurst and four others, cite job growth as their reason for Congress to expedite the process. The report comes from Texas GOP Vote.
Last month, President Obama denied a permit for the pipeline, citing a lack of time for review.
If approved, the pipeline would run from Canada to refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast, passing through 15 Texas counties including several throughout our listening region.
