PARIS - The Paris City Council is working to finalize the hiring of Collin County city administrator John Godwin as its next city manager.
Godwin currently serves as the town manager for the City of Fairview, just south of McKinney, where he’s been since 2002.
The Paris News reports that the council chose Godwin by a 4-3 vote and that contract negotiations are currently underway.
According to the City of Fairview website, Godwin received a BA degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and an MPA from the University of North Texas. He has worked in various aspects of local government since 1981, including the cities of Longview and Rowlett in Texas, and Polk County in Florida.
