TAWAKONI - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Departmentsays a Collin County man drowned Monday during a fishing trip on Lake Tawakoni.
Game Warden Dale Waters says that the body of Ricky Royse Miller, Jr. of Allen was found Wednesday morning. Authorities were contacted about 24 hours after Miller failed to return home.
On Tuesday, they found his truck in Rains County on the east of the two mile bridge along the lake. Miller’s boat was found that evening on the west end of the bridge on the Hunt County side. The following morning, officials located Miller’s body about 100 yards from shore.
Miller’s death is one of several during the July 4 holiday period in North Texas. It came a day after two brothers drownedwhile swimming in Lewisville Lake. At Lake Texoma, officials called off a search Wednesday for a man believed to have drowned there.
