SULPHUR SPRINGS - Roy Dean Duffey of Sulphur Springs has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the February 2011 stabbing death of David Harrison Cooper.

Authorities say Duffey and Cooper had been involved in an ongoing feud which escalated into the stabbing incident. Duffey had previously admitted to the stabbing, according to police reports.

Trial was scheduled to begin next week before a plea deal was struck, the Sulphur Springs News-Telegram reports. Duffey will serve 180 days in prison and the remaining 10 years of his sentence on probation.
