Chrissy Ann Alley of Cooper was arrested on forgery charges.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office arrested Chrissy Ann Alley of Cooper on Jan. 27 on nine charges of forgery of a financial instrument, a state jail felony.

Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Brown said that Alley has been accused of stealing checks totaling $716.99 from her mother’s purse. Alley admitted using the money to buy illegal prescription narcotics, Brown said.

Alley remains in the Delta County jail with a bond set at $40,000 on each count.
