Rockwall EMS Proposes Money-Saving Contract
Rockwall County Emergency Medical Services is proposing a new contract that could save the county and local governments hundreds of thousands of dollars. The proposed contract could also reduce rural ambulance response times by 30 percent and enable EMS to open additional locations in Heath and Fate.
The county EMS says the new contract could save Rockwall City alone more than $100,000. That’s about a third of its current emergency services budget. EMS says the savings could end up funding as many as three additional ---- and much needed ---- city firefighters.
If the contract eventually passes, it would take at least a year to go into effect.
