A Hunt County corrections officer was killed on Saturday in an accident with a semi-tractor trailer in Terrell.
County Sheriff Randy Meeks says 33-year-old Billy Attaway died when his pickup truck collided with an 18-wheeler on State Highway 34 on Saturday morning.
In a statement, Meeks said Attaway’s truck swerved into the southbound lane. The Texas Department of Public Safety said slick roads might have led to the crash.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was 52-year-old Bryan Hogan. He was uninjured in the accident.
