FSA Offices to Reopen Nationally

Some FSA offices have been providing limited services for existing loans and tax documents since Jan. 17 But  US Agriculture Commissioner Sonny Perdue says all FSA offices in the country will reopen Thursday, Jan. 24.

FSA offices will be open full-time, Monday through Friday for the first two weeks, should the shutdown continue. After that, offices will be open three days a week. Federal employees have not been paid during the shutdown, though they are to receive full back pay whenever the shutdown ends.

Purdue also moved the deadline for farmers and ranchers to apply for aid to counter the effects of agricultural tariffs to Feb. 14. Sorghum farmers in Texas have been especially hard hit by the trade war with China.
