Severe Thunderstorms, Hail Possible Friday
Severe thunderstorms are possible in Northeast Texas on Friday afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said. Large hail is the primary threat with this system, though high winds and isolated tornadoes are also possible, forecasters said.
Timing is uncertain, but forecasters said storms are most likely in Northeast Texas beginning around 1 p.m. Friday and continuing until about 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Forecast maps from the National Weather Service depcited the chance for large hail in Northeast Texas Friday as 15 to 30 percent. Chances for damaging winds was depicted at 15 to 20 percent, with tornado chances given as 5 percent.
