The weekend of Nov. 11-13 is the last chance to catch peak fall colors at Cooper Lake State Park.

Texas State Parks will honor veterans this weekend with free admission for all guests on Sunday, Nov. 13.

A cold front has blown into Northeast Texas, and while Friday's skies are gray, this Saturday and Sunday are forecast to have sunny skies with highs in the low 50s. With classic autumn weather and fall colors around the region nearing the end of their peak period, it's a perfect weekend to visit Cooper Lake State Park, or any of the other Texas State Parks in our region.

Cooper Lake State Park superintendent Steve Killian discusses guided hikes happening Saturday at Cooper Lake State Park's South Sulphur and Doctor's Creek units. Also this Veterans Day weekend, Texas Parks and Wildlife will honor vets with free admission for all guests at all parks on Sunday, Nov. 13.
