Shootings were reported at two different locations in Commerce, the first around 6 p.m., and the second around 7 p.m. on July 1.

Two men died and three other people were wounded in two shooting incidents that occurred in Commerce on the evening of Sunday, July 1. Local police say they believe the shootings are related.

Brian Galicia, 20, and Malachai Wisdom, 21, were found dead at Village Creek Apartments, located at 2231 Live Oak Street. Police responded to a call of shootings at the address shortly after 7:30 p.m. Upon arriving, officers said they saw Galicia and Wisdom on the ground, as well as a car that appeared to have been damaged in an accident. Officers also saw blood in front of apartment 2419, they said. Police entered the apartment and found more blood, weapons and shell casing, but no one inside the apartment, they said.

Bystanders told police that multiple suspects had fled on foot through nearby trees in the direction of a Taco Bell just east of the apartments. Officers searched the area, and found another abandoned car crashed against trees, but no suspects. Police also learned that two other people, a man and a woman, had been shot and taken by an unknown party to Hunt Regional Emergency Medical Center at Commerce. Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later taken to the Commerce Police Department for questioning, officials said.

Earlier that evening, around 6:30, officers responded to a call of a shooting at 401 Park Street in Commerce. Officers found Aaron Williams, 41, shot in the left temple and also injured on his right hand, they said. Williams was taken to Hunt Regional Emergency Medical Center at Commerce and released later that night, officials said.

Texas A&M University-Commerce Police, the Hunt County Sheriff's Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Hunt County Constables, the Wolfe City Police Department and the Texas Rangers assisted the Commerce Police Department with response to the incidents.

The Commerce Police Department and the Texas Rangers are investigating the incidents. Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact the Commerce Police Department at 903-886-1139.
