This week on Movie Picks with Alice Reese, she reviews The Good Dinosaur, Secret in their Eyes, and By the Sea. She also add a few options for your holiday movie escapes.
The Good Dinosaur is Pixar's second movie of the year, and Alice really enjoyed it. The animation is amazing and well worth the price of admission. Raymond Ochoa plays the lead character of Arlo.
Secret in their Eyes is an American adaptation of a 2009 Argentinian Oscar-winning film. It stars Chiwetel Ojiofor, Nicole Kidman, and Julia Roberts. Alice highly recommends this movie, and she says it is haunting and has one heck of a surprise twist at the end.
By the Sea stars Angelina Jolie as former dancer Vanessa and Brad Pitt as her novelist husband Brad Pitt as they try to salvage what's left of their marriage. Although Alice admits some think this film is a "vanity project" for Jolie-Pitt, she also found value in the film and recommends it, even if it's just for the beauty of the cast and scenery.
Alice didn't get to see these movies, but she does share what she knows about them so far.
That's all the movies for this week's edition, but come back next week for more. You can listen to Alice every Friday during All Things Considered at 4:50 and 5:50 PM, or you can find her here online at ketr.org by searching Movie Picks with Alice Reese.
