Four arrests were recently made related to a construction trailer theft that occurred in the Post Oak Estates area.

The theft occurred on February 22, 2016 near a home construction site off of County Road 1110.  A 2006 Cargo trailer containing construction equipment and tools with an estimated value of approximately $29,000 was stolen during the incident. The trailer was located later the same day attached to a 1998 Ford Expedition that had caught fire and been abandoned in Lamar County.

Sergeant Investigator Colton Spinks worked with the Northwest Texas Auto Theft Prevention Authority from Paris and the follow-up investigation revealed that four suspects were potentially involved in the theft.  Christopher Wayne Cabler of Detroit, Texas, Luther Don Whitaker of Avery, Texas, Lonny Lawayne Carico of Lamar County, and Tonya Ledale Newberry of Paris, Texas were consequently charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

Two of the suspects bonded from the Lamar County jail, one suspect is in the Red River County Jail, and one is in the Bowie County jail with Delta County warrant holds.
