Authorities searching Greenville reservoir in search of missing youth

Update @ 6:43 a.m.: As of Monday evening, the search continued for a missing child who is feared to have drowned at a Greenville lake. 

3-year-old Letaro Micky hasn’t been seen since before 6 p.m. Monday at Greenville Municipal Reservoir No. 4.

City Public Information Officer Lori Philyaw tells the Herald-Bannerthat the boy was with his family as part of a fishing outing when he disappeared under the water. Attempts from the boy’s father to save him were unsuccessful.

Divers were on the scene late into the evening, while rescue boats were using sonar in the effort. 

10: 30 p.m. Tuesday: The boy reportedly went under water and, "didn't come back up," says city Public Information Officer Lori Philyaw.

At last report, search and rescue teams were still scouring the area.  

Greenville Reservoir No. 4 has a depth of about 30 feet and is located in the northwest corner of the city.
