Cecil Martin Captured

Cindy Roller

Cecil Martin became an escape artist recently after being held in connection to a string of burglaries in Delta County.  Early Friday, his magic ran out when he shed his clothes and made for a briar patch.

Authorities received a call early this morning with reports of reckless driving on the Tollway in Dallas County. The suspect wrecked the vehicle he was driving and in the process injuring himself.

He took off on foot being pursued by officers.

While trying to escape, the suspect removed his clothing and ran into an area with briar bushes to hide from authorities.

Officers eventually trapped him near some homes and privacy fences.

State Troopers, Dallas Tollway officers, Sachse Police, and various other entities were crucial in the capture and identification of Cecil Martin, who is wanted for six warrants in Delta County, 52 in Hopkins and now several in Dallas County.

Five officers are with him preventing his escape.
