For the Annual Delta County County Fair and Livestock Show folks can again see a favorite attraction with the announcement of the Fire Fighters’ Challenge.

Cooper Volunteer Fire Fighter Tanner Crutcher reported he will be organizing this year’s event which has included fun, fierce competition between not only County volunteer departments but with neighboring fire fighters too. Crutcher hopes to have great prizes to give away this year and is currently seeking donations.

The event has included tug-o-war with fire hoses, axe the pallet, barrel fill, pass the bucket contest, team gurney carry contest and more. Departments have competed to secure the coveted golden axe award and several other items and gear.

The challenge starts in the morning around 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. It is followed by the Livestock show, vendors/kids zones, and the Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association competitors at 2 p.m.
