Fannin County – A Fannin County child remains in critical condition following a near-fatal attack by a pit bull in Bailey on June 4th.
Shaylee Crosson was playing outside and wandered into her grandmother's back yard where a pit bull held on a dog run attacked her. The dog had been known to be aggressive and was killed at the scene before emergency personnel arrived.
The girl's injuries were so severe, officials gave her little chance of survival. Medical personnel now expect the girl to recover, but she is still being held in critical condition to guard against threat of infection.
