Citizens asked to boil water until further notice

LADONIA - Ladonia citizens are being asked to boil their water prior to consumption due to recently reduced pressure in the city’s water system.

The boiling is to ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making.

In a notice provided to KETR, City Secretary Julie Russell stated that boiling comes as a requirement due to low pressure experienced Thursday, and that no contaminants have been detected in samples of the water.

The public notice indicates that water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. The document reads that in lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

Boiling is to remain in effect until water system officials notify customers that the water is safe for consumption. Questions regarding the matter can be obtained by contacting City Secretary Julie Russell at 903-367-7011.
