Collin County Sees Its First Measles Case of the Year

On Monday the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed the county’s first case of measles this year.  That brings the total number of measles cases in Texas up to 11 for 2019 – already two more than all the cases in the state last year.

Health officials say the Collin County resident is an adult who traveled internationally. They say the general public is not at risk from this case.

So far this year, 228 cases of measles have been confirmed in the United States.
