Commerce Mayor Wyman Williams says six candidates are running for the seat on the council vacated by John Weatherford in a special election on Saturday, January 12. Candidates are Judy Fane, Ray Hunter, Brian McGinley, Conner Moreno, Stephanie Muller and John Sands. Early voting is December 27-January 8. The council met this week and will seek a grant to help pay for $500,000 in improvements needed at the Lake Tawakoni water pump station.
