Commerce Independent School District to receive word on state testing

By Kevin Jefferies

Commerce – A video conference with Texas Education Commissioner Shirley Neeley for all regional education centers is set for today that should tell the Commerce Independent School District how to handle special education testing with regards to the No Child Left Behind Act. Commerce failed to meet Adequate Yearly Progress standards in March due to differences in state and federal laws concerning testing of special education students. TAKS testing in Commerce begins next week.
