Commerce Mayor Wyman Williams says the city is addressing a chemical imbalance in the city's water that requires it to send out regular water-quality notices to citizens.  The mayor says the water is within standards of safety for drinking, but the city will have to show over an extended period of time that the problem is being corrected, and in the meantime, the notices must continue to be sent.  Mayor Williams says part of the problem is that water collects in an older water line that is not in heavy use, and a fire hydrant has been installed to flush out the line.  Regarding the revitalization project conceived by the Toole Design Group, the mayor says the city has a Texas Department of Transportation grant that will enable the first part of the project to begin soon, new sidewalks on Live Oak Street.
