Cooper Senior Center Expands Programs

Citizens at the Senior Center in Cooper at the Delta County Civic Center enjoy a free exercise class before the meal is offered.

Local citizens reach for the stars as they enjoy the free exercise class held at the Cooper Senior Center. The Cooper Senior Center sponsored by the Lamar County Human Resources Council is open for the public each weekday from 9 a.m. to noon. They offer many ways to socialize with others and advice for staying active and healthy.

The program offers exercise classes, bingo with prizes and a meal is delivered each day. Jackie Jones, driver for LCHRC, brings hot meals to Cooper and Delta County each day as well as nearly 187 meals to Hopkins County.

The meal menu can be found in the Cooper Review newspaper each week. The Ark-Tex Council of Governments also provides rides to the center via Trax Transportation in the three counties of the Rural Transit District – Lamar, Red River and Delta. For a ride call 903-739-2444 or 866-575-9014.
