Seasoned Texas performers John Dufihlo and Brandon Carr have made names for themselves as members of bands like The Deathray Davies and The Earlies, respectively. Their new collaboration is Corner Suns, whose self titled album just released on Idol Records.

Special guests like Denton's Sarah Jaffe make appearances on the record, which the band describes as a mixture of catchy pop and 60's psychedelia. In this interview, you'll hear an explanation of the band's name, discussion about the music and instruments used, and much more.

Find more about Corner Suns on the band's Facebook page, and at Idol Records.

Notably Texan airs weekdays from 11am to 2pm on KETR.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Matt moved to the Sulphur Springs area in 1990 and settled in Commerce shortly thereafter. Having dreamed of working in radio since childhood, he began working at KETR while taking Radio-Television courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 1993. Matt has transitioned from a part-time worker and pupil of KETR, to the station’s Chief Announcer/Producer and supervisor of student broadcasters. A familiar voice of 88-9 KETR, Matt has hosted such shows as The Late Nite Lion, and can currently be heard as host of Notably Texan.
