Customers cautioned as water outage restored

JACOBIA - Some residents of a rural Hunt County community had to make do without running water for 36 hours or more. Citizens in Jacobia are now being asked to boil what they receive.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the Jacobia Water Supply Corporation to notify all of its customers to boil their water prior to consumption.

Officials had been dealing with multiple leaks in the system since late Monday. Water was expected to be returned to customers by the end of the day Wednesday.
