LINCOLN, NE - A Nebraska court has found a Rains County man guilty of intent to deliver marijuana stemming from a 2011 traffic stop that netted 55 pounds of pot.

Forest Jones, of Emory, faces up to 20 years in prison upon sentencing, scheduled for late August. The 40-year-old Jones was driving a rental car along Interstate 80 when a Nebraska trooper made the stop for a traffic violation.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that the trooper became suspicious when he received conflicting reports from Forest and a passenger, Michael Shaw of Iowa. A search then led to the drugs.

Shaw was sentenced last December to between 16 to 32 months in prison.
