Early Voting Begins Wednesday for Lone Oak ISD Tax Hike

Facebook

LONE OAK - The school district is seeking a 13 cent increase to its property tax rate, resulting in an election September 15.

District officials say their funding levels per student have been held to 2006 figures, and over the prior two years they’ve reduced staff positions by 25 and campus supply budgets by roughly 30 percent. The 13 cent increase to $1.496 per $100 valuation would restore approximately $600,000 to the Lone Oak ISD budget.

Early voting begins Wednesday and continues through September 11 at the Hunt County Voter Administration Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, with the exception of Labor Day.
