Widespread flooding caused more than just road closures.

Excessive rain which has caused widespread flooding damage created the need to declare Delta County as a local disaster as of Wednesday, February 28, 2018. It was ordered by Delta County Judge Jason Murray.

It was reported by Delta County Emergency Management Coordinator Monty Hobbs. He noted on the declaration that the County’s Emergency Management Plan has been implemented. This state shall continue for a period of not more than seven days of the date, unless the same is continued by the consent of Commissioners Court of the County of Delta, Texas.

The excessive rain that began on February 19, 2018 caused many roads to close due to flooding also resulted in damage or loss of property.
