Fannin County Man Killed in Crash

Tom Michael KRTS

A Fannin County man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash in north Hunt County.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Kyle Bradford said the accident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on State Highway 50 near the intersection of FM 1563.

James Edward Harden, 72, of Ladonia, was driving a black GMC Sierra northbound on the highway when he lost control of the vehicle.

The Sierra left the roadway and continued in a sideways skid into a telephone pole.

“He was not wearing a seat belt,” Bradford said. “They attempted to get him to the hospital in Commerce, but he didn’t make it. The trooper also said alcohol was involved.”

No additional details were immediately available.
