The NWS has issued a heat warning for Northeast Texas, through the end of the week.
Temperatures expected to stay between 103 and 108 degrees under sunny skies through Sunday. There is no rain in sight until at least next Tuesday, but days are expected to humid nevertheless.
The combination of heat and humidity can be legitimately dangerous. The NWS says older folks and those with health or breathing problems are most susceptible to heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Pets and other outdoor animals should also be able to get plenty of shade and water.
