The Hunt County GOP’s candidate for county treasurers has withdrawn from the race. Sherry Fair will not be on the Nov. 6 ballot. She reportedly stepped aside for what she called family reasons.
Brittni Turner, whom Fair defeated in the spring primary, will be the Republican candidate for the position instead. No Democrats have filed for the seat; Janie Watkins is the Libertarian Party candidate.
However, candidates interested in getting on the ballot in the race can now do so. They will have until Aug. 20 to file.
