As Hunt County develops, the future of public transit's role in the region is being planned.

If you’d like to have a say in the development of public transportation in Hunt County, you have a chance to do so this week. The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTOG) is inviting the public to participate in one of two online public meetings this Tuesday and Thursday. Also, online surveys are available for any local person or organization that would like to participate.

A public release from NCTCOG:

We would like to invite you to participate in an upcoming virtual meeting to discuss public transportation coordination opportunities in Hunt County and our 16-county North Central Texas region. This meeting is part of a process to update Access North Texas – a plan first adopted in 2013 and updated in 2018 to coordinate public transit and human service transportation.

The Zoom meetings for Hunt County are scheduled for Tuesday, April 27 at 11am (Registration Link) and Thursday, April 29 at 5:30pm (Registration Link). If you or another representative from your organization are unable to join us during one of these virtual meetings, we can schedule a separate call in the upcoming weeks to review our plan and gather feedback from your organization.

Please visit the Access North Texas website at www.accessnorthtexas.org to learn about our outreach efforts and the current plan update. We look forward to working together to improve awareness of existing transportation options and continue long-term efforts to advance service choice for all transit customers including older adults, individuals with disabilities, and low-income individuals.

Additionally, if you are unable to attend a meeting we are sharing other opportunities to provide comments from now until July 2021:

Survey for Organizations, available here https://forms.office.com/r/7vLckTewes

Survey for Individuals, available at www.accessnorthtexas.org (available in English and Spanish)
