Summertime is no slow time at Texas A&M University-Commerce so long as young athletes and musicians have interest in summer camp. The campus plays host to a number of sports, music, teaching, and other special interest summer programs each year.

This month, Lions head basketball coach Sam Walker joins Dr. Dan Jones on The President's Perspective to talk about a recent basketball camp that drew talent, in the form of both campers and counselors, from around the nation.

Later in the program, Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey sits down to discuss the approaching softball season, coming next spring. Ivey also shares the story of the twitter hashtag #SCAchat, and how it's helping the athletics programs at small colleges around the country to touch base and learn from each other.

The President's Perspective is a monthly half-hour chat with the president and CEO of Texas A&M University-Commerce, Dr. Dan Jones. The program is produced monthly by general manager Jerrod Knight at KETR's studios.

Jerrod Knight oversees station programming, news and sports operations, individual and corporate development efforts, business and budget planning and execution, and technical operations.
