Lady Tigers take on Pilot Point

After defeating New Boston in the one-game round last Friday night, the Commerce Lady Tigers have moved on to the Regional Semi-finals tonight in Mt. Pleasant.

This is the furthest the team has ever been, and Head Coach Jeff  Davidson tells the Commerce Journal that the girls are understandably excited but are taking it week by week.

“We’ve got to move runners and we have to score runs,” he said. “We know that we can compete with them. I’m confident in our ability.”

Students, Faculty, and Community members gave the team a proper send off Friday from the High School as the team left for Mt. Pleasant.

The round will be best 2 out of 3 games. Two games will be played Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at Northeast Texas Community College in Mt. Pleasant. If needed, a third game will be played Saturday at 10 a.m.
