A local perspective on new district lines in Texas

SAN ANTONIO - Some of the new lines have been drawn for North Texas. Interim maps for Texas state House and Congressional districts were approved Tuesday.

If they hold up, it’ll pave the way for the state’s political party primaries to be held May 29.

Under the maps, House District 4, currently represented by Congressman Ralph Hall, would still include all of Hunt and Rockwall counties and a wide swath of Northeast Texas.

Bob Deuell’s State Senate District 2 would still include Hunt, Delta, Fannin, Hopkins, Rains, Rockwall and Van Zandt Counties and most of eastern Dallas County.

And State House District 2, represented by Dan Flynn, would include Hunt, Hopkins, Rains and Van Zandt counties.
