Michael Johnson Entertains For Junior Afflatus Club's Event

Award-winning author and cowboy Michael Johnson will be performing in the Junior Afflatus Club’s fundraising event on Thursday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Cooper.

Johnson will be speaking on The Power of the Word, according to the Club. He is familiar with the stage as he has performed over 1,200 shows.

He has published nine books and was named Oklahoma Author of the Year as well as being a frequent guest on RFD TV. His book Cowboys and Angels was named Best Non-Fiction Book of the Year by the Oklahoma Writers’ Federation. 

He has local ties as his wife, Dr. Sherry Miller, is former from Cooper. He is known for saying, “the best people in the whole world are cowboys, horses, school teachers and…Southern Women!”

There will be a limited number of tickets are available for this May 17 event through members of the Junior Afflatus Club for $20 each. This fundraiser helps the Club support the community events throughout the year.
