With nearly two year project complete, celebration planned

GREENVILLE - A dedication ceremony is Tuesday at 1 p.m. for the City of Greenville’s new $20 million wastewater reclamation center.

Following the event at 100 Division Street, bids will open on the project to build administrative offices.

Crews broke ground on the plant in July 2010. The new building was build next to the existing facility, which had grown obsolete and left the city vulnerable to enforcement actions from the Environmental Protection Agency and/or the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Greenville is also planning to handle sewer utility service for the massive Walton Development municipal utility district, proposed just west of the city.
