One person has been arrested in connection with a two-vehicle crash that injured three people last week.

According to a press release, Commerce Police Department responded to a call around 2 p.m. on May 7 of a two-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 24 and Highway 50. According to investigators, a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 50 was struck from behind by another vehicle traveling at a high speed in the same direction. Alcohol is expected to have played a part in the crash.

At the time of the crash, occupants from both vehicles were transported to the hospital with major injuries.  The extent of the injuries is unknown.

The person driving the vehicle that caused the accident has been identified as Willie Doss Jr., 44, of Greenville. He was taken into custody on May 9 in Greenville on a charge of Intoxicated Assault with a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury, which is a Felony 3 Charge.  He is currently being held in Hunt County Jail on a $25,000 bond pending trial.
