LAMAR COUNTY - Jerry Lee Griffith has been identified as the man shot to death Sunday evening following an altercation with his stepson in northern Lamar County.
The incident may have stemmed from a family dispute. Griffith reportedly tried to break into his estranged wife’s home but couldn’t and entered through the front door where he was confronted by his stepson.
Law enforcement says the 22-year-old stepson was stabbed but shot Griffith multiple times. The stepson was flown to a Dallas hospital in good condition.
There had reportedly been a restraining order against Griffith, who died at the scene.
