Proposed Addition to Greenville's Monty Stratton Project Fails

City of Greenville

The Greenville City Council took no action  Tuesday to add $160,000 in enhancements to the Monty Stratton Parkway, instead discussing where else that money could be used.

The improvements, recommended by Public Works Director Massoud Ebrahim, would provide stamped stained concrete crossings and entryways and partial landscaping and irrigation at each end of the median. That would have brought the total for the project to $1.93 million.

Council Member Dan Perkins said other projects like rebuilding a section of Webb Avenue and/or the southern end of Stonewall Street would be a better use of the funds.

Ebrahim’s proposal died for lack of a motion.
