The salmonella virus made its way into a seasoning for packaged steaks.

Texas-based Standard Meat Company has recalled more than 53,000 pounds of raw beefproducts that may be contaminated with aalmonella.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says a non-meat seasoning used in packages of frozen, marinated sirloins tested positive for the virus.

The products were mainly shipped frozen to restaurants, but The USDA says some consumers might have bought the steaks too, between February 19 and March 14.
