Hopkins County Sheriff’s officials were alerted by family members of 79-year old Lee A. Jones at approximately 3:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon of his disappearance from his home on County Road 1180.
A silver alert was issued last Sunday asking for anyone who had information this missing man’s location to call Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at 903-438-4040 or 9-1-1.
The missing elderly man is reported to be suffering from dementia and other health issues. Hopkins County, Arbala, North Hopkins, Sulphur Bluff and Cumby fire fighters along with sheriff’s deputies and posse and the Red Cross were put into action to help locate Jones. Texas Department of Criminal Justice dogs, Department of Public Safety helicopter searched by air, and a DPS dive team have also been called in an attempt to locate the missing man.
His sister was caring for him at the time he went missing. Jones was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and green shorts.
