COMMERCE - Commerce Police say they are still investigating last week’s hit-and-run that hospitalized a Texas A&M University-Commerce student, who has since been released from care.
Community Resources Officer Alex Suarez tells KETR that the male student suffered a few broken ribs, cuts and scrapes. He was taken to a Dallas hospital.
Last Wednesday’s accident occurred at around 9:30 p.m. at the crosswalk of the Monroe-Stonewall Street intersection. The crosswalk is marked by broken white painted lines and is slightly illuminated by a street light.
Authorities would eventually make contact with the driver, who initially sped away from the scene. Suarez says an arrest is forthcoming upon completion of the investigation.
