A 25-year-old Sulphur Springs man was stabbed to death over the weekend, and another man was arrested in connection to his murder, according to Sulphur Springs police.
Local police responded to a call on College Street at about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, police said. Upon arrival, the found the stabbing victim, Kendale Qualls, and a suspect, Ronal David Bailey, 30, officials said.
"During the course of the investigation it was learned the suspect and the victim had been in an altercation," Sulphur Springs Chief of Police Jason Rocketson said.
Qualls was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, police said.
Bailey was taken to the Hopkins County Jail and charged with first-degree murder.
